a5c7b9f00b Two teenage boys unwittingly summon an ancient evil entity knownThe Blind One by delving into black magic while trying to escape their mundane lives. First,I'm not a fan of trash metal but the extent it was used in this flick don't hurt the movie and even makes for some funny jokes.

The story or script feels really worked out and although there are a lot of references at the end it still feels original.

It does this by absurdity and it makes a lot of characters in the movie go from weird to mental.

Plus, the moral motivation is some what off, probably because of cultural differences and it not being a U.S.A flick but more honest and there for real.

All these refreshing things and an eye for detail all help to make this an above average experience.

The effects, the make-up and the camera work reminded me of Evil Dead 2 but not in a way of stolen but more like that sort of quality.

The not to like list would be nitpicking so I'm leaving that out and can only say, that I really liked this movie.

Probably not everyones cup of tea but if you're a horror fan you should check it out.

I highly recommend it.

Enjoy! Just saw the film at Munich's Fantasy Festival and it was an unbelievable fun time. The plot is to be more-or-less expected, but the lines and the acting (perfect casting by the way) made people in the theater laugh-out-loud (and Germans are a demanding to say the least crowd).

The metal element offers the perfect background for the story and some of the funniest scenes I have ever seen. What I found particularly amazing were the special effects, given that it is not a Hollywood film, and thus I presume it was made on a low budget.

All in all, Deathgasm makes Shaun of the Dead and Zombieland pale in comparison. So kick back and enjoy an amazingly good movie from NZ. First-time writer-director Jason Lei Howden (who has a day job working for Peter Jackson’s special effects house Weta Digital) has delivered something amiably silly, liberally splattered with human viscera, and scored to the punishing grind of electric guitars.
